CARMEN KASS, A CAREER IN 10 PICTURES
Her feline presence, strong and slender, and her consistent and hard-working career have made her a reference for the fashion industry and other models. She continues to work as the first day appearing in campaigns for brands such as Hugo, Celine and Michael Kors.
NARCISO RODRIGUEZ IMAGE
Here comes the plot twist: in 2004, Carmen Kass takes a temporary break from her modelling career to run as an Estonian representative in the European Parliament and to shoot the film “Set Point”.
And while the rest of humanity was living an aesthetically questionable 2000s, she became the face of Chanel, made a cameo in Zoolander (playing herself), appeared in the also questionable Pirelli calendar and starred in campaigns for Michael Kors, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and Tommy Hilfiger.
J’ADORE CHRISTIAN DIOR IMAGE
With the turn of the century comes the image of Kass that sticks with us and makes her a golden goddess: her campaign for Dior's J'adore perfume. 2000 is Carmen's year; her success is corroborated by the VH1/Vogue award for the best model of the year. A golden dream.
Born in 1978 in Estonia, Carmen Kass is said to be "more than a model" because she is also a renowned chess player and president of her country's national league. She rose to fame in 1998 when she made her first Chloé advertising campaign and has since become part of the subsequent and equally successful generation of supermodels.
